Who We Are
Ark of Angels Montessori Preschool is located on the St. Croix Catholic School campus and is part of the tri-parish Catholic community of St. Michael, St. Mary, and St. Charles. Faith is at the center of our tri-parish educational mission. Our community: - Integrates faith daily into the educational experience; - Sees each child as a unique creation of God with his or her own spiritual, emotional, and social needs; - Encourages the partnership of school and family and respects parents as the primary educators of their child; - Teaches Catholic values and instills a respectful atmosphere in which students can joyfully learn and interact ...
What is Montessori?
"Education is not something which the teacher does . . . it is a natural process which develops spontaneously in the human being." - Dr. Maria Montessori Montessori is an educational method of teaching children that is based on a child's natural desire to learn, combined with a basic respect for the individual child. Through a specifically prepared environment where children progress at their own pace, spiritual, social, intellectual, and physical growth happens naturally. Our program combines these values with biblical stories from the beginning of creation to the resurrection of Jesus. Math: Children develop basic math skills using ...
Welcome to Ark of Angels!
To me a parish without a school is incomplete, just as an education without God is incomplete. If we only learn about the things God made, including us, without learning about the One who made them, then our education is incomplete. I learned this from personal experience having attended Catholic School myself from 1st to 8th grade at St. Wenceslaus parish in New Prague. Having to go to public school in 9th grade I immediately noticed the difference and the enormous vacuum created by the absence of God in education. That is why I believe so firmly and completely in the importance and necessity of Catholic Schools.
God bless you, and let us pray for each other,
Father Michael J. Miller, Canonical Administrator
